We have an exciting opportunity for a Learning Technologies Officer to join the team on a full-time, fixed term contract until 30/04/2025. In return, you will receive a competitive rate of £25,247 per annum.
We are a high-achieving college who attract around 2,800 sixth form students across the region each year. We are based within the stunning New Forest National Park and offer our students a huge range of courses and superb facilities.
About the role:
As the Learning Technologies Officer, you will assist with staff and student support, running, administration and development of the college's learning technologies.
Responsibilities as our Learning Technologies Officer will include:
- Providing 1st line support for staff and students of the college's learning platform(s) – post login.
- Assisting in the day-to-day running of learning technologies.
- Designing and providing training for users where and when necessary.
- Assisting with project work and continuous development of the platform(s).
- Assisting in the planning, testing, and deployment of update and maintenance work.
- Ensuring effective communication with users through a variety of methods.
- Meeting and liaising with internal and external clients regarding learning technologies.
- Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge and understanding of relevant technologies.
- Complying with the Data Protection Act and Health and Safety procedures in accordance with College policy.
- Undertaking any other such duties, commensurate with the grade of the post, which may be reasonably required.
- Providing support for other technologies across the college where needed.
As our Learning Technologies Officer, you'll ideally have:
- Current IT experience. A keen interest in the development of learning technologies.
- English and Maths GCSE (or equivalent at grade C).
- Ability to work as a member of a team.
- Ability to provide support to all staff and students.
Detailed knowledge and experience of:
- Customer service.
- Current experience in an IT support or Learning Technologies role, supporting current technologies.
- Working knowledge of Windows 10 and Mac OSX.
- Microsoft 365 and other applications.
Special Circumstances:
- Flexibility to vary hours at short notice.
- A flexible approach to working outside ‘normal' College year, which may include additional working hours during ‘maintenance' periods and College holidays.
- An element of weekend work may also be required as part of a scheduled plan, however this would be planned in advance and where possible kept to a minimum.
